Describe the current state of web typography.

Web typography has not been the same since Internet Explorer 4 was released in 1998. Today, we have the ability to manipulate type in different kinds of font programs. One for example is a WOFF, which is basically a zipped font file. Adobe Flash, has basically perfected text replacements that are permanently crippled. And thanks to Google, we can use free font-hosting that is also available for self-hosting. One day, in the perfect world of internet there would be no need for these types of contraptions and we will be free to use whatever font we’d like. But until that day will we be stuck with replacing text with an image.

What is responsive web design?

Responsive web design is design that responds browser size for specific devices. The design stays the same, but the images and text may change size.

What are its strengths and weaknesses?

The strengths of responsive web design are being about to automatically adjust (resolution, image size, and scripting abilities) the website to specific devices. It makes it easier for the designer because they won’t have to make a million different versions for one website.

The weaknesses: because there is only one code it makes the website load faster on a computer versus a cell phone or other smaller devices. Also, the layout of a website will be completely different on a laptop versus a cell phone. Smaller devices only face the problems.

What do you think of it?

I think that responsive web design is a very good idea. Yeah, a website may load slower on a smaller device but it totally helps the designer for an easier life.

What is xhtml?

xhtml stands for extensible hypertext markup language. it is an extended version of of html; it is a more advanced version of html.

What are doctypes?

doctypes stands for a document type declaration. doctypes tells a web-browser what version of the markup language is in.

Why are good coding habits important?

good coding habits are important because they provide you with organization and it enables an individual to becomes for fluent.

Why is it useful to use a CSS reset?

it is useful to use a css reset because, it basically strips any kind of css styles from an html to enable the user to apply their own style sheet.
